Labor leaders stood outside of Congress yesterday repeating demands for an end to the war on Gaza. Representatives from the UAW, American Postal Workers Union and the United Electrical Workers stood alongside several progressive Congresspeople, including Cori Bush (D-Missouri), Rashid Tlaib (D-Michigan), and Ro Khanna (D-California) to push for H.Res. 786, a ceasefire bill in Congress.

UAW President Shawn Fain, fresh from a historic labor contract victory against the Big Three automakers, said, ““We cannot bomb our way to peace,” and that, “The only path forward is to build peace and social justice through a ceasefire.”

The massacre of civilians in Gaza has reached an unspeakable level. Indigenous women, children, and babies sheltering inside of a school were killed, execution-style, by Israeli soldiers, according to witness testimonies in the last 24 hours.

Props to the four Senators whose general commitment to human rights comes through in the form of a call for a ceasefire, as of December 14, 2023. They are:
